Moving to Japan!!

I'm thrilled to announce that I have passed the final screening of the 2017 Monbukagakusho Research Student Scholarship. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in Tokyo has confirmed my studies at Kunitachi College of Music with Masato Kumoi for two years (April 2017 to March 2019). As the recipient of this scholarship, I will be the first American to formally study the saxophone in Japan. I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity to be immersed in Japanese saxophone performance and pedagogy.

私は2017年文部科学省研究生奨学金の最終審査に合格したことを、ここにご報告できる事を大変嬉しく思います。東京の教育省、文化、スポーツ、科学技術（文部科学省）が2年（2019年3月から2017年4月）、国立音楽大学で雲井雅人先生の下で、全てに関わる資金授与で、私の勉強を許可してくれました。この奨学金の受取人として、私は正式に日本でサックスを勉強する最初のアメリカ人になります。私は日本のサックスのパフォーマンスや教育学に邁進できる機会を楽しみにしています。
